Hi, there were 7 BLNR members who visited the Aegis assisted living community 13th September. Five were no show and I expect I should have sent out a reminder. We had a good presentation and lunch. The tour of the facility was outstanding. I liked the ambience and the decor. I hope to visit another retirement place next September. So far we have visited 6 places around the Seattle area.
Regards Dr. George Gey
Dr. Gey, BLN Retirees Health and Welfare chair and guests visited the new Aegis Living location on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle adjoining Rodgers Park. This is a new Victorian style home featuring studios, one, and two bedroom apartments. It has licensed nurses on-site daily, in house UW primary care services available, transportation, massage therapy, assisted living, memory care, and podiatry services. Emergency call is available 24/7. There is a barber shop, beauty salon and for those with pets, there is pet care available.
The visit included lunch, presentation, and a tour of the community. There are also 13 other Washington Aegis communities with several others slated to open in the next several years. Information on these communities were obtained at the meeting.
